Prediction Market technology, which is also powering our CrowdWorx software, has proven its predictive capacity in multiple applications. Even outcomes which – due to their obscurity – are difficult to predict have been predicted correctly by Prediction Markets.

Very recently, the Oscar’s provided another example. Prof. Perry – professor of economics at the University of Michigan – has evaluated the performance of Information Markets (a synonym for Prediction Markets, or EPM for short) in predicting the winners of the 2010/11 Academy Awards. Guess what? 11 out of 12 Oscars were predicted by right on the mark by EPM technology – even beyond the obvious winners Natalie Portman and Colin Firth. Once again, this put the Prediction Market right on top of the prediction accuracy ranking, followed by other aggregation mechanisms and some experts. Learn more.
